Facilitator

The NCC works as a "facilitator" of change by creating forums for discussion between the public and private sector. These partnerships result in enhanced understanding and coordination of competitiveness change efforts.

Facilitation activities include:

  • Establishing Competitiveness Advisory Councils in a number of important sectors, bringing together the key private and public sector stakeholders involved in developing the competitiveness of each sector E.g., petrochemicals, real estate, ICT
  • Coordinating with SAGIA to help organize the Global Competitiveness Forum (GCF) in January 2008. The previous GCF, featuring Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates as the keynote speaker, took place in November 2006
  • Supporting SAGIA’s ministerial meetings with fact-based analysis to advocate reforms
