Councils on Competitiveness
The councils on competitiveness are an actualization of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness agenda driving the delivery of competitiveness within the various sectors and areas represented by the councils. They are meant to be a platform through which cooperation and coordination between relevant government and private sector entities can be achieved and enhanced.
SAGIA through the NCC will maintain a facilitation role for these councils. The aspiration for these councils is to drive the identification, prioritization and reform process for the main hindrances preventing several sectors within the Kingdom from becoming key economic drivers in the country’s strategic direction towards a more diversified and flourishing economy.
Ultimately, the Councils on Competitiveness are envisioned to drive speedy delivery of impactful reform within the Kingdom thereby improving the ease of doing business and ultimately leading to value creation through economic development.
Key councils identified include:
• Labor Council headed by the Ministry of Labor
• Transportation Council headed by the Ministry of Transportation
• ICT Council headed by the CITC
