Regional Competitiveness

A Region-level Competitiveness Indicator will be created to be used annually for measuring investment environment and performance of various regions of the kingdom. This Indictor aims to achieve and support a balanced economic growth at region level through promoting both local and foreign investments in various regions of the kingdom, based on the fact that there is a close correlation between increased competitiveness and investment. Another objective of this Indicator is to minimize the relative disparity between the regions in economic growth. With the fulfillment of these objectives, the Kingdom will be able to achieve a balanced growth at all economic levels.
This Indicator comprises three pillars:

1. Basic economic Indicators; which include such factors necessary for creating a stable and profitable business environment.
2. Economic competitiveness incentives; which support profitability and business growth.
3. Innovation and business development factors; which boost and bolster fast business growth and support innovation-based growth.

Regional Investment Reports :
These are periodic economic reports presented to investors, stakeholders and officials in various regions of the Kingdom. The reports are meant to provide basic economic and developmental in formation about each region for the purpose of promoting local investments.
Objectives:
• Providing basic information about the resources and capabilities of each region.
• Highlighting major economic developments and   achievements in individual regions.
• Identifying new investment concepts and opportunities which are compatible with the resources of each region.
