World Investment Report 2011 (UNCTAD)
The World Investment Report series is an annual publication on global and regional trends in foreign direct investment and related policy developments at the national and international levels. The 2011 edition of the World Investment Report focuses on the strategic use of non-equity modes by transnational corporations in their management of global value chains and international operations. Additional highlights include a discussion of the interplay between FDI and industrial policy, as well as an assessment of the origin, rise and global map of State-owned transnational corporations.
The Global Competitiveness Report 2011-2012
The results show that while competitiveness in advanced economies has stagnated over the past seven years, in many emerging markets it has improved, placing their growth on a more stable footing and mirroring the shift in economic activity from advanced to emerging economies.
IFC World Bank Doing Business
Doing Business 2012: Doing Business in a More Transparent World assesses regulations affecting domestic firms in 183 economies and ranks the economies in 10 areas of business regulation, such as starting a business, resolving insolvency and trading across borders. This year’s report data cover regulations measured from June 2010 through May 2011. The report rankings on ease of doing business have expanded to include indicators on getting electricity. The report finds that getting an electrical connection is most efficient in Iceland; Germany; Taiwan, China; Hong Kong SAR, China; and Singapore.
